I introduced myself to this ‘soup’ this week. Now, I’d like you to meet Mulligatawny. Specifically, Creamy Mulligatawny.
Mulligatawny was introduced to me as a soup and ‘pepper water’ came up as a sort of translation. Had I seen pepper water first, I think I would have made cookies instead. Luckily, I was sold on the name Mulligatawny.
I love a creamy curry soup like my Coconut Curry Lentil Soup, but I wouldn’t say this is a ‘soup’. Unless you like your soup super super thick. Really, I think I ended up with a really decent curry dish! And I’m calling it Creamy Mulligatawny.
This is like a little bit of autumn in bowl. Sweet potatoes. Pecans. Pomegranate. Seriously, just touching on some of the great food that is in season right now. I love food this time of year
Sweet Potatoes with Pomegranate & Pecans. Here’s what I did.
Banana Bread you guys! Whole wheat banana bread.
Do you have this happen in your house? Where everyone seems to go through a big banana craze, and you can’t seem to buy enough to keep your fruit bowl full of bananas, but then one week you end up with a bowl full of black bananas? As though all the monkeys in your house have suddenly gone off bananas? I love those weeks. They’re my favourite. Because… in my opinion, the best tip for banana bread is to make sure the bananas are over ripe. (more…)
I’ve been holding out on you.
I feel bad, cause this good. Like, I make it every week and don’t get sick of it. That kind of good.
Let me introduce you to my Chipotle Cilantro Dip. (more…)
A little while ago, Paul came home from preschool with a little plastic container holding two little caterpillars. Well, those caterpillars grew, and eventually made themselves cocoons. Before we knew it, we had two butterflies flying around our house.
After feeding them and admiring them for a bit, Paul set them free in our garden. I don’t remember getting a ‘homework’ assignment like that when I was a kid!
And with those butterflies set free, we know for sure that it’s summer!
Summer. Yup. Summer vacation has officially begun. Not only is it beautiful and hot and the kids are off school, but I’ve made a fresh batch of Creamy Orange Pops for our freezer.
